Memory Loss Caregiver Support Group
In affiliation with the Alzheimer's Association-Minnesota and North Dakota Chapter, the Wilder Foundation Adult Day Health Memory Loss Program is now offering a support group for families and friends of a loved one with memory loss. If you would like a chance to be part of a community in which you can meet regularly for mutual emotional support and social interaction, increase your knowledge about memory loss, learn more about effective problem solving and coping skills, and be encouraged to maintain your own emotional and physical health, please consider joining our group. We meet the 2nd Thursday of each month from 10:00 to11:30am at The Wilder Adult Day Health Memory Loss Program, which is located at 753 East 7th Street (close to the campus of Metro State (University) in St. Paul. The group sessions are free and no cost respite care is provided for your loved one in the on-site Memory Loss Program during group time. To register and for more information, contact Dan Bannister, MSW, LICSW at 651-772-5258.
Gathering at Zion Lutheran Church
The gathering is a senior group respite program (10 am - 3 pm) that provides a safe enjoyable social opportunity for senior 55 & over and allows their caregivers time off from caregiving. We also offer a caregiver support group on-site (10 am - 12 pm). You do not have to have a loved one in the respite care group to attend the support group.
If you are interested in respite care, please contact Jill Agyekum, Senior Caregiver Network, 763-422-6960 to complete an assessment prior to participation in group respite care.
