Day Recreational Group for Individuals with Memory Loss
This group is for those individuals with memory loss whose caregivers are attending the support group during the same time. Participants will enjoy activities such as cooking, exercise, music, and art. Registration is required, please call Erin McGee, CTRS at 651-232-2166. Meets the 4th Tuesday of the Month.

For individuals with memory loss this is an opportunity to participate in activities that will provide social, spiritual, emotional, physical, and cognitive benefits. Fitness Exercise Classes for people with Parkinson's Disease
This unique exercise program will follow a fitness format that stresses components of strengthening, stretching and aerobics. The therapist supervising the program will emphasize the benefits of exercise, taking advantage of your current capabilities, and will help you bring your fitness to a higher level. The cost is $4 per session, per person. Primary physician approval is required prior to the first exercise class. Please call 651-232-2098 to sign up. Monday-Friday 11:30-1:00 pm.
Caregiver Support Group
Offered for support, education, and encouragement, this group meets the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at the Alumni House of Macalester College from noon to 1 pm. The convener is John Manz. Messages can be left at 651-815-2586.
“Lunch with Julia” A caregiver’s support group
This discussion group helps caregivers connect with community resources and get ideas and information for developing, coping, and managing techniques in caregiving for their loves ones. The meeting is facilitated by a licensed social worker from Sojourn Adult Day Services. We meet every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month. Lunch is provided for a fee of $6.00 or you are welcome to bring your own lunch. Care recipients are welcome to have lunch and participate in activities in the Sojourn Adult Day Services dining room during the meeting time with advanced notice.

Please join DARTS for a conversation with author and journalist Francine Russo. She will share practical information on sibling dynamics in caregiving related to her recent book, They’re Your Parents Too! How Siblings can Survive Their Parents’ Aging Without Driving Each Other Crazy. Pauline Boss, family therapist and Professor Emeritus, University of Minnesota has said, “Francine Russo has written a stunning book about one of the most complex but ignored times of human transition – the sibling relationships when parents are in decline and then die…A must-read for boomers who are at this difficult juncture.” DARTS assisted Russo in her research for the book, which holds stories from local families and insights from experts around the country.
