Fitness Exercise Classes for people with Parkinson's Disease
This unique exercise program will follow a fitness format that stresses components of strengthening, stretching and aerobics. The therapist supervising the program will emphasize the benefits of exercise, taking advantage of your current capabilities, and will help you bring your fitness to a higher level. The cost is $4 per session, per person. Primary physician approval is required prior to the first exercise class. Please call 651-232-2098 to sign up. Monday-Friday 11:30-1:00 pm.
Parkinson's Exercise and Support Group
The University of Minnesota Medical Center, in partnership with Fairview Balance Center, has formed an exercise and support group for people with Parkinson's disease. The group meets every fourth Wednesday of each month from 1:00-3:00pm. (please note the change in dates due to the upcoming holidays: November 18th and December 16th) on the Riverside campus
of University of Minnesota Medical Center. The first hour is spent doing exercises specifically designed to help individuals with Parkinson's
disease maintain and improve functional abilities. Following the exercise session, participants meet as a support group to discuss various topics of interest. To register, please call 612-672-7272. There is a suggested $5 donation per participant.
The Memory Club: Empowering Families Facing Early Memory Loss
An educational support group for persons recently diagnosed with early stage memory changes and their care partners. Meetings will include:
- Weekly topics followed by peer discussion.
- Expert speakers.
- Safe environment to share, learn, ask questions, form new friendships.
- Developed with the Alzheimer's Association of Minnesota and North Dakota.
Pre-registration is required.

Caregiver Support Group
This support group meets every 4th Wednesday of the month from 2:00-3:00 p.m., at HSI Circle of Friends - Oak Park Heights, Boutwells Landing.
