Powerful Tools for Caregivers is an educational program designed to help family caregivers take care of themselves while caring for an older relative or friend. Topics include self-care, identifying and reducing personal stress, communicating feelings, needs and concerns, communicating in challenging situations, learning from emotions, and mastering caregiving decisions. You will benefit from this class whether you are helping a parent, a spouse, a friend, someone who lives at home, in a nursing home or across the country.

This series is designed to meet the information needs of individuals who have received an Alzheimer’s diagnosis, their care partners and professionals. Classes were selected by experienced care partners and range from legal and financial planning to communicating and healthy living. The goal of the series is to help people with dementia and their care partners maintain an optimal level of social, mental and physical health as they encounter new challenges related to Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.
